| Centre of Environmental Education of Chios
Formal visit by the representative of our first stakeholder, for an informative meeting and dissemination session at school, before the students involved in the project join an environmental programme, to be realized on the island of Chios at the beginning of June.
The students had the opportunity to learn and hear things that otherwise it would be impossible as everything that has to do with the mastic know-how, that is the growing, cultivation, harvesting and the making of products is well kept and preserved exclusively on the island–an intangible cultural heritage of Chios. |

Class E(5th graders)
- History/Environmental Studies/Geography/ Science
Students start becoming familiarized with the historical background of Chios, with reference to culture, economy, food and products.
Then they examine the climatic conditions that are appropriate for cultivation, the wealth and fertility of ground and the salted sea breeze, next to which the mastic trees grow, while through Physics they learn about Mastic’s nutritional value and therapeutical properties to man. |
